Danni joined GB Finance in 2016 direct from a leading insurance business. Prior to this GB Solutions’ activity in the financial services sector was focussed on a few of the larger banking groups and niche insurance players in the area. Using her expert first-hand knowledge Danni has grown her client base to become the fastest growing sector within the GB Solutions group!
‘The Finance desk covers clients of all sizes. I handle roles nationally for clients in banking, insurance and wealth management. We also support a number of local independent insurance brokers and financial advisors.’
Clearly the financial services sector, driven by the Financial Conduct Authority has changed enormously since the last recession.
‘While there is still a demand for the traditional customer services and team management roles, I have seen a growth in Risk Management, Compliance and Cyber roles. This reflects the changing financial climate and the risk from hackers in the UK and abroad. Business analyst roles are increasingly common place and appear both as permanent and contract opportunities.’
Danni’s specialist financial services knowledge is complimented by the other four GB divisions, who work on other Head Office functions in their specialisms which are IT, Marketing, HR +Legal and Sales.
For hard-to-find skillsets It is currently a very competitive market and employers who don’t offer the market rate on salaries and more particularly benefits can easily be rejected by the candidates. Senior hire candidates need to be able to prove a solid career path within the Financial Services sector and the willingness to personally invest in developing themselves further.
