Smith & Williamson, the financial and professional services group, has announced two senior promotions within its Southampton office.

Amy Harper, who joined Smith & Williamson’s Business Outsourcing Services department as an associate director in 2018, has been promoted to director.

Garry Lee, who joined Smith & Williamson in 2006 as an audit specialist and moved into Restructuring and Recovery Services in 2009, has been promoted to associate director.

Andrew Edmonds, managing partner of Smith & Williamson’s Southampton office, commented: “Amy’s track record has been impressive. She has grown her team from two to 11 since joining and was recently appointed the national cloud accounting lead at Smith & Williamson. This recognised her expertise and passion for helping clients to adopt cloud accounting technologies.  Amy has made an outstanding contribution to client service and satisfaction in the short time she has been with us. I’m delighted that Amy’s talents have been recognised with this promotion.”

Greg Palfrey, national head of Restructuring and Recovery Services and based in the Southampton office, said: “Garry has over 30 years of general accounting, insolvency and creditor services experience and represents Southampton in Smith & Williamson’s Creditor Services team. He was appointed as Chair of R3 Southern & Thames Valley region and promotes the work of insolvency professionals to try and preserve jobs and save businesses. This is testament to Garry’s high reputation in the industry.  His promotion is well deserved.”

Harper said: “I am really pleased with the promotion which recognises the hard work and passion I have put into growing the team and outsourcing service in the Southampton office.  I have really enjoyed the last two years with Smith & Williamson, and very much look forward to my future with the firm.”

Lee commented: “I am delighted and look forward to continuing to build on the good work and reputation of the team, both locally and nationally.”

Six partners are based at the South Coast office of Smith & Williamson in Southampton.  The total headcount in the office is now in excess of 80.
