Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has expanded its tax team in Southampton with two new senior hires. Richard Meller joins as a corporate tax director while Karen Gibbons is appointed VAT associate director.
Meller joins with 18 years of tax experience. In his career to date, he has been involved in a variety of tax advisory projects including M&A transactions, due diligence, corporate reorganisations, innovation tax reliefs and share schemes.
Gibbons is a leading indirect tax professional with over 15 years’ experience gained in practice with the Big Four and at HMRC. Her appointment strengthens the VAT practice in Southampton, led by VAT partner Phil Munn.
They will both advise ambitious owner-managed and private equity backed businesses in the region.
Commenting on the appointments, Paul Anthony, office managing partner, said: "Our Southampton office continues to grow and further invest in our teams while we deliver support to our expanding client base of ambitious middle market businesses. The calibre of our two new senior hires adds to the depth of expertise within our tax team of 40 professionals which I believe to be unparalleled in the local market."
