One of the fastest growing accountancy firms in the Thames Valley is expanding again with two new appointments to its audit and tax department, and the opening of a new office on the Bristol and Bath Science Park.

Lydia Nzene joins Goringe Accountants as a tax accountant and Bethan Alsey as an audit trainee.

Both will be based at the firm’s head office in Reading but with the opportunity to work from Goringe’s other offices in Kensington, London, and now in Bristol.

Nzene will be mainly responsible for supporting Goringe’s personal tax clients with forecasting their tax liabilities and expert financial tax advice. She has an MsC qualification in International Accounting, is a Chartered Certified Accountant and prior to joining Goringe she worked for a major global financial service provider.

Alsey also joins the team permanently after completing part time work experience with Goringe as an accountants associate, and having successfully received a first in her degree in accounting and business management. As an audit trainee of Goringe Accountants she will complete the full ICAEW training schedule and will continue to support on clients’ year-end accounts, CT600s, SATRs, VAT returns and Bookkeeping.

Nicky Larkin, managing director of Goringe Accountants, said: “Growing our team and expanding our offices shows our confidence as a firm in continuing to invest in our people and our client services even during these unprecedented economic times.

“Bristol was the natural next step as it’s a major hub of entrepreneurial activity, attracting some of the best and most exciting businesses in the UK. Having Lydian and Bethan on board as well means we can continue to help our clients in all areas of finance and accounting as many prepare to bounce back after a challenging first half of 2020.

“In the last few months we’ve seen a rise in new client enquires from start-ups to enterprises, all seeking advice on securing government funding as well as guidance on long term financial, tax and business planning to help grow their business.

“Lydia and Bethan will be a great addition to the team to help companies with their audits as they seek investors, buyers or bank requirements during this time, in order to grow or to raise capital. It’s a delight to have them on board and to be a key part of the firm’s future success.”
