Oxford accountants Shaw Gibbs have appointed Phil Dickinson as tax partner.

Phil, who joined the firm at the beginning of February, is a tax specialist who has been involved in advising owner managed businesses on the direct tax challenges for more than 10 years. He has a particular specialism in property advising professional landlords and property developers with significant property portfolio’s. His focus is on restructuring businesses so that they are both commercially and tax efficient as well as providing solutions for a clear business exit and succession strategy.

Phil was previously employed by Shaw Gibbs before moving to London and has now returned to lead and develop the Shaw Gibbs corporate tax team across Oxford and London with London as his ‘home’ office.

Phil said: “I am excited to be back with Shaw Gibb and it is interesting to see how the practice has evolved since I worked here in 2011. Shaw Gibbs have strong sector credentials in property and therefore my skill-set fits really well. Some things have not changed, namely the warm and welcoming culture and the drive to work closely with clients to understand their business needs and the challenges they face.  This resonates with the way I like to work, enabling a proactive approach to ensure clients are efficiently structured and are provided with bespoke tax solutions.”

Peter O’Connell, Managing Partner, added: “We are very pleased to welcome Phil back to Shaw Gibbs, his role is one of endless possibilities and I am confident that he will be a strong asset for the firm. We have already seen Phil adding value for our existing clients and I am eager to see how his team and portfolio will grow”
