UK law firm Shoosmiths has strengthened its real estate division with the appointment of specialist construction lawyer Ryan Fordham (pictured) as a partner.

Formerly the head of construction and engineering at Travers Smith, Ryan Fordham has more than 12 years of experience advising developers, contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, landlords, tenants, investors and funders on construction and engineering projects and transactions across the UK and internationally. Prior to this, he worked at Mayer Brown and Nabarro/CMS.

Fordham’s experience encompasses construction procurement and project and transaction advice across a broad range of sectors including commercial development, healthcare, infrastructure, utilities, energy, manufacturing, and process engineering.

Patrick Garner, partner and national head of Shoosmiths’ construction team added:

“We are seeing increasing demand for support and advice from construction clients as they seek to navigate the ongoing challenges posed by the pandemic, adjust to changes introduced post-Brexit and get back to business as usual.”

Shoosmiths is a national law firm with 13 locations across the UK and is listed as a top ten UK real estate firm in The Lawyer’s Global Real Estate 50.
