Spectrum Corporate Finance has announced that Julia Carruthers has recently joined the team as a senior manager, based in the Reading office.

Previously corporate finance associate director and head of financial modelling at HMT, Carruthers is a well-respected corporate finance professional with 13 years’ experience in her field.

She began her career in 2005 with JP Morgan in Los Angeles, then in 2007 transferred to London to work in the Consumer, Retail and Healthcare M&A team where she advised both corporate and private equity clients. Carruthers joined the HMT corporate finance team in 2013, where she led the financial modelling department. Julia has gained extensive corporate finance experience in lead advisory and worked on a broad range of acquisitions, fundraisings, buy-outs, disposals, and valuations.

She has worked on many notable transactions during her career including three rounds of fundraising for Channel Mum, the MBO of Whistl, the acquisition of Parcel Hub by Whistl, LDC’s investment into BOFA, the MBO of EPI and the MBO of Grace Personnel.

In her role at Spectrum, Carruthers will work with the Spectrum director team on the day-to-day project management and delivery of the transaction cycle from the preparation of marketing documents and buyer lists, to completing financial models and management presentations and overseeing due diligence, legal and completion documents.

Simon Davies, managing director at Spectrum Corporate Finance, commented: Julia has a great reputation within our industry and a fantastic track record of consistently delivering first class client service. Spectrum’s clients are used to being advised by a senior led team and Julia’s investment banking background coupled with five years in a corporate finance boutique will enable her to fit perfectly in the team at Spectrum and hit the ground running. Our team is our biggest asset and we will always look to invest in people who we know will work well together and who will add value to our clients and professional network.”
