Partner at Reading law firm to be a judge at South East Awards for Planning Excellence
Karen Jones, head of Reading law firm Blandy & Blandy’s Planning & Environmental Law team, has been invited to be a judge at this year’s South East Awards for Planning Excellence.
The awards event will be held in June, with the winners then entered into the national awards of host the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Karen, a partner at Blandy & Blandy, is a highly-regarded planning and environmental lawyer with more than 30 years' experience.
She has been a legal associate of the RTPI since 2007 and holds both an LLB (Hons) Law and LLM Environmental Law from University College London.
She previously taught at the College of Law and has lectured at the University of Reading's renowned School of Real Estate & Planning, part of Henley Business School.
Karen has also been individually recommended in the Chambers UK and The Legal 500 guides, with the latter naming her a 'leading individual' in the field. She was acknowledged as one of the top 10 Planning Law solicitors in the UK in the 2020 Planning Law Survey.
Karen said: “I am proud of my LARTPI status which brings an extra dimension to my legal input on projects. I welcome this opportunity to be involved in the awards and to have the chance to give back to the RTPI by participating as a member of their panel.”
The categories include 'Best Plan', 'Best Project', 'Planning Authority of the Year', 'Small Planning Consultancy of the Year' and 'Young Planner of the Year'.
