Simon Smith has taken the helm as managing partner of Wellers after a 40-year tenure with the firm.

Simon most recently led Wellers’ Banbury office, and is now set to leverage his experience to guide the firm through a rapidly changing marketplace.

“I’m thrilled to take on the role of managing partner at Wellers”, he said.

“We’ve achieved a lot in recent years by expanding our client base and adopting new technologies to further enhance our client service delivery.

“Our personal approach is critical to delivering bespoke advice and services to help and support our clients, and I look forward to driving Wellers forward during my tenure as managing partner.

“As part of this, I’m excited to announce that we’re hiring for several new trainee positions to support our growth.

“Having joined Wellers as a trainee myself, I know what a great culture we have to nurture and grow new talent, and look forward to welcoming the next generation at our firm.”

Simon takes over from Christina Nawrocki, under whose guidance the firm has grown and established a more collaborative decision-making structure.

She’ll remain a partner and key figure at Wellers, ensuring a smooth transition in leadership.

Christina said: “It’s been an incredible opportunity and a real honour to lead our firm.

“Having started at Wellers as a graduate trainee and ending up responsible for the firm, it doesn’t get much better than that as far as career progression and life goals go!

“I’ve always loved Wellers, and truly believe in the longevity, the potential and the values of our firm under Simon’s stewardship.”

Alongside this, Wellers has also announced the promotion of Tom Biggs and Ralph Hearn to partner, as well as Mike Webb and Doug Saunders to associate.

Together these promotions will strengthen the firm’s specialities across tax and estate planning, strategic planning and corporate finance.

Simon added: “I’m delighted that my first major announcement as managing partner is to appoint Tom and Ralph to partnership and Mike and Doug to the position of associate.

“These promotions are truly well-deserved and are a testament to their contributions to their clients and the firm.

“I look forward to seeing their careers continue to flourish.”
