Oxford Bus Company, part of the Go-Ahead Group, has appointed Luke Marion as its new Managing Director.

Having been interim managing director since April 2022, Luke, who was previously finance and commercial director for ten years, will replace Phil Southall, who is taking over the role of group-wide bus performance director at Go-Ahead’s head office in London.

Luke originally trained as a chartered accounting, qualifying at Ernst & Young. Before moving into the transport sector he also worked at Reckitt Benckiser. Luke is also director of Oxfordshire’s Low Carbon Hub alongside his role with Go-Ahead.

Luke Marion said: “I’m proud to have become the permanent MD of Oxford Bus Company and will continue to do my best to ensure the business remains successful, innovative and a great place to work. It was a pleasure working closely with Phil and I thank him for everything he has done for the business and the team. I wish him every success in his exciting new role with Go-Ahead Group.”

Martin Dean, Go-Ahead’s Managing Director, Regional Bus, said: “I’m delighted that Luke will be taking on the role of MD permanently in Oxford. He’s done a great job steering the commercial aspects of the business and he’s the ideal person to take the company forward.

“I’d like to thank Phil Southall for his outstanding leadership in Oxford, and to wish him well in his role steering and challenging the performance of Go-Ahead’s bus companies nationwide.”
