Barclays make key Thames Valley corporate banking appointment

Barclays has announced the appointment of Vikki Hemming to lead the mid-corporate market for the Thames Valley region.

Vikki will be responsible for the continued growth, managing of and driving forward the mid-corporate business proposition across the Thames Valley region. The area includes Oxfordshire, Berkshire, North Hants, Buckinghamshire, Swindon and West Wiltshire.

The new role will see Vikki work to build new and strengthen existing relationships, whose business operate between £6.5 million and £50million turnover. The new mid-corporate manager will also be responsible for managing a team of over 20 colleagues based across Oxford, Reading and Swindon.

Mark Stuckey, Barclays Head of Mid-Corporate for the South of the UK, said: “I am pleased to welcome Vikki into her new role. Vikki’s notable industry knowledge and experience will prove invaluable, as we continue to strengthen our mid-corporate teams and industry specialists to support clients in fulfilling their business ambitions across the region now and in the future.”

Vikki has a wide range of banking experience having started her career in financial services in 1986 including roles with NatWest/RBS before moving to Barclays in 2012.

Over the last three years Vikki has been responsible for leading the Barclays mid-corporate team for Richmond, Guildford and West London. Prior to this, Vikki worked as a Barclays Relationship Director responsible for the Consumer and Healthcare sectors across Oxfordshire.

Speaking on her promotion, Vikki added: “I am delighted to be back in the Thames Valley region which has a vibrant economy and well-known as one of the fastest-growing in the UK outside of London.

"I look forward to working with the team as we focus on successfully providing an outstanding service to our clients and helping them reach their business goals and in doing so the local economy to thrive.”
