New Commercial Partner joins BPE Solicitors

Starting the year with growth in mind, BPE Solicitors welcome David Ashcroft to the firm.  David joins the Commercial Team, led by Iain Garfield, as Partner.

David has a distinguished legal background from his extensive experience gained in the City of London, Lincoln’s Inn, and most latterly in the Three Counties.

He has broad experience in commercial law, ranging from IT, facilities management, regulatory and compliance, to general commercial contracts, distribution agreements, satellite leasing, and international trade and export licensing.

His international trade experience started with many years in the City dealing with large ocean-going cargo ships and oil and gas tankers: their construction, sale and purchase, financing, and commercial management.  The shipping industry is a prime source of legal precedents because of the huge sums involved and David cut his teeth on some major cases.

In recent years David has focussed this accumulated expertise on defence and security matters, primarily but not exclusively within the Three Counties, and for this reason he is security cleared at a high Government level.

Speaking about his new role, David said: “I have been working in the Three Counties for many years and I truly welcome the opportunity to join them.  They have a tremendous client list and they are one of the happiest firms I have ever encountered.”

John Workman, Senior Partner at BPE, said: “David has an impressive background and is a key addition to our Commercial Team.  He has strong sector experience and I’m delighted to welcome him to the firm.”
