A land and property specialist has celebrated his 20th anniversary with a major company in the sector – by being appointed managing director.

Ian Hardwick has been appointed to the top post at Warwick-based L&Q Estates, which is part of the L&Q housing group, one of the UK’s leading housing associations and developers.

He joined Gallagher Estates in 2000, and was group sales director when the firm was acquired by L&Q – one of the UK’s leading charitable housing associations and residential developers – in 2017. He succeeds Gregg Wilkinson.

L&Q Estates specialises in the identification, purchase and promotion of sites for residential and commerce development and, with in excess of 55,000 plots in the pipeline across the UK, is playing a major part in alleviating the national housing shortage.

Ian said: “L&Q Estates – and before that Gallagher Estates – is a major player in creating sustainable new settlements across England and some of the projects I first worked on when I joined the organisation are now thriving communities which is really rewarding.

“I feel very lucky to be leading a talented team of professionals helping to provide quality housing and establishing communities."

Craig Luttman, Deputy Group Director of Development and Sales at L&Q said: “Ian is a highly experienced member of the team and has played an integral part in the organisation’s growth story over the years. We’d also like to thank Gregg Wilkinson for his service and wish him well in his future endeavours.

“The acquisition of L&Q Estates in 2017 was a gamechanger for L&Q, enabling us to truly become a master developer with experience stretching from land acquisition and promotion right through to construction, sales and housing management. We look forward to working closely with Ian as we continue on our shared mission to tackle the housing crisis.”

Among other projects, L&Q Estates has also been instrumental in the expansion of the 1,600 home Warwick Gates development in Warwick.
