Leamington Legal tech appoints Elizabeth Basten as Chief Marketing Officer
Leamington Spa-based legal technology business Clarilis has appointed a new Chief Marketing Officer.
Liz will oversee overall marketing strategy at Clarilis, a drafting automation platform for lawyers, including brand engagement, growth, product marketing and digital.
In August last year Clarilis raised a further £6 million to support international expansion.
Elizabeth Basten is an experienced CMO and brings more than 25 years’ experience with large corporates and SMEs. A large part of her career has been spent in the technology and financial services sectors, including leading teams responsible for digital engagement on behalf of major brands. Liz is also a champion of innovation and has held key roles in the UK Fintech market. Before joining Clarilis, Liz was CMO for Wealth Wizards, a UK top 100 Fintech who were the first to automate the financial advice process in the UK. Liz also led the regulated business arm of Wealth Wizards as it launched the UK’s first digital financial adviser for the UK employer sector, which won a Shroders award for innovation within the first six months of launch.
Liz said: "I have been lucky to work with Fintech pioneers that have led the way when it comes to automating complexity within regulated professional services environments… and have succeeded in making financial advice more accessible for all.
LegalTech is transforming the legal industry for the better and we are all focused on accelerating the pace of change! One of the key things I’ve learned is that tech companies ignore the human factor at their peril and tech is never enough on its own. I am impressed by how Clarilis uniquely combines a team of experienced lawyers with its powerful platform to create award winning best practice when it comes to complex document automation. Clarilis’ focus on ensuring value and ROI in automation projects sets them apart. I am looking forward to extending the reach of their intelligent drafting solution to the wider market. I am delighted to join the Clarilis team.”
James Quinn, CEO at Clarilis, added: "Liz is a highly accomplished and creative marketing leader which makes her a great addition to the Clarilis executive team. Her marketing background and experience of automation in the Fintech sector will help us capitalise on our successes to date and focus on our next phase of growth here at Clarilis.”
