KPMG has made further senior appointments in its Reading team with the promotion of two directors.

Sarah Reynolds has been made a director within the firm's tax practice with Runita Virdee being promoted to director within KPMG's technology transformation practice.

Sarah has worked in indirect tax with clients across a wide range of industry sectors and specialisms with her new role having afocus on the retail, e-commerce and leisure industries.

Sarah said: "Indirect tax is a critical consideration for retailers and many other consumer facing organisations.

"With so many businesses from the sector based in and around Reading, it is essential that we continue to grow our team.

"It has been a privilege to develop my specialist focus in this area at KPMG over the past two decades and I’m thrilled to take on this new role as we continue to support the local business community with expert, tailored advice."

Runita has provided in-depth advice on investments, cost optimisation and technology to more than 100 FTSE 500 organisations, both in the UK and internationally.

"We have a strong focus on technology transformation at KPMG," said Virdee.

"It's a space where we’re seeing a lot of growth and innovation, with so many inspiring tech-enabled businesses right on our doorstep.

"Within this new role, I am looking forward to working with more local companies, helping them continue to drive their success."

Will Smith, office senior partner at KPMG in Reading, added: "Sarah and Runita are excellent examples of the expertise we have within our Reading team. In quite different specialisms to one another, the support they deliver to our clients is invaluable."

In May KPMG made 21 promotions within its Reading office.

The round of promotions includes six partner appointments including Amanda Myatt (deal advisory), Andrew Holden (deal advisory), Lee Batterbury (global mobility services), Debbie Green (corporate tax), Sunil Bharadwa (corporate tax) and Simon Baxter (audit).

A further 15 KPMG staff were promoted to more senior roles within the office across the tax and legal services, consulting and audit practices.
