IBB Law advises Logiq Consulting Ltd on equity investment
IBB Law, a firm with offices in Reading, advised the directors and founders of cyber security company Logiq Consulting Ltd on the terms of the equity investment into the business by Phoenix Equity Partners.
The IBB team consisted of partners Adam Dowdney and Harriet Jones, legal director Tim Cargill, and solicitor Fiona Kelleher, all of whom are from the corporate commercial team. Partner Richard Devall from the employment team and associate Katherine Bereza from the commercial property team also assisted with the deal.
Adam Dowdney said: “We were delighted to work with the Founder Team on this very exciting investment by Phoenix Partners into Logiq. The deal had a number of complexities, in particular with regards to some structuring around the EMI option plan, but the hard work and experience of the IBB team ensured the Founders were comprehensively, advised on all aspects of the transaction against some tight timescales.
''However, it was a pleasure to work with them all, and the sell side teams at BDO and Blue Peak, and we wish the Founders and Phoenix every success in what, we are sure, will be an exciting future.”

Logiq is known for its secure cloud platform, DISX, which provides defence contractors with the means to deliver into and communicate with the Ministry of Defence.
Founder and CEO of Logiq James Morgan said: “It was an absolute pleasure to work alongside Adam and the IBB team who provided outstanding support throughout a complex event. We were continuously kept informed, whilst protected from “the noise” which allowed us to concentrate on the business during this critical time. In particular, we welcomed IBB’s pragmatic advice and their ability to convey highly technical legal issues in an easily understandable way. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the team to anyone undertaking a transaction in the future.”
