Gateley Legal has been ranked the most active legal adviser for deals across the South East for the first six months of 2019, in latest report by Experian.

Activity in the Experian MarketIQ M&A Advisor league table is ranked by volume and the Gateley Legal Corporate and Banking & Finance teams topped the South East charts with 14 deals. This included advising LDC on the management buyout of Amberjack, acting for the selling shareholders on the merger of Carbosynth Holdings Ltd with Biosynth AG, and advising CACI on its acquisition of MooD Enterprises Limited.

Gateley Legal was ranked number one on a national basis advising on 67 deals across the UK. The legal practice was also ranked number one in the Midlands and featured in the top ten in Yorkshire, the North West, the East of England and Wales.

Mark Metcalfe, Corporate partner in Gateley Legal’s Reading office, commented: “We’re pleased to have climbed the rankings and taken the number one legal advisor spot in the South East. We have achieved considerable traction in the marketplace and the headcount in our Reading office will continue to increase. This is a great result and is certainly reflective of the hard work, dedication and commitment from our Corporate and Banking team in Reading.”

Andrew Peddie, Head of Corporate in Gateley Legal’s Reading office, commented: “Over the last 3 years since Gateley’s Reading office was set up the progress in terms of deals done has been more rapid than even we could have expected. We look forward with excitement to the next three years.”
