FRP expands Southampton team with two appointments
Business advisory firm FRP has expanded its team in Southampton, hiring James Prior as a restructuring advisory director and Liam Burrows as insolvency manager.
James has more than 14 years’ experience providing restructuring advice to SMEs, owner-managed businesses and large corporations on the south coast and throughout the UK.
His experience spans a broad range of sectors, including construction, real estate, healthcare, leisure and hospitality, as well as logistics and financial services. He has advised businesses, lenders and government agencies on matters that cover all stages of the corporate lifecycle.
His recent successes have included a cash flow and options review contingency planning exercise, and subsequent restructuring of a large construction business, followed by an accelerated trade sale that safeguarded jobs and ensured a full return to secured creditors.
He said: “The launch of the new office in Southampton is an exciting opportunity for FRP and it is a real pleasure to be joining the team.
“They have a reputation for exceptional client service and a proven track record of delivering tangible results, so to be working with Sandy to help the firm expand its service offering at such a crucial time for businesses is a brilliant opportunity.”

Meanwhile, Liam’s appointment brings the team more than 9 years’ experience encompassing a full range of corporate and personal financial restructurings.
He will work closely with Sandy, James and other FRP colleagues in Southampton and across the firm’s UK office network to manage the restructuring case portfolio, helping to maintain stakeholder communications, and to ensure that cases are progressed efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements.
Liam commented: “I’ve been hugely impressed by the results FRP has achieved for its clients, and am really looking forward to working with James, Sandy and our colleagues across the business to continue to deliver exceptional outcomes.”
James and Liam’s appointments follow the launch of FRP’s Southampton office in March this year, led by restructuring advisory partner Sandy Kinninmonth. The office gives FRP an on-the-ground presence in the region allowing the team to work closely with businesses in the region.
Sandy said: “I am delighted to welcome James and Liam into the FRP team. They bring a real depth of experience and expertise to their roles, and will help us continue to provide a market-leading service to our clients, while continuing to grow our practice across the region.”
