Evelyn Partners has appointed John Howarth as audit partner at the firm’s Bristol office.

John’s main focus during his career has been working with dynamic mid-market businesses across a range of sectors.

He has extensive Big 4 experience, having been a partner at EY and before that at PwC. During that time, John spent six years based in New Zealand, and he most recently served as director of group finance at Future in Bath.

Sancho Simmonds, head of assurance and business services at Evelyn Partners, said: “I’m delighted to welcome John to our fast-growing audit practice.

“John’s extensive experience working with dynamic mid-market businesses aligns well with the significant growth ambitions we have as a firm across our national audit practice.”

John joins the Bristol office of Evelyn Partners as the team gets ready to relocate later this year from their current premises at Portwall Place to the city’s new EQ development next door.

Helen Bassett, professional services managing partner at the Bristol office, said: “I’m very much looking forward to working closely with John as we continue with our regional growth, focusing on supporting even more clients across the South West.”

John added: “I’m very excited to be joining the Evelyn Partners team in Bristol.

“It was important to me that I chose a firm whose values and ambitions match my own. Right from the start, Evelyn impressed me with their culture by putting people first.

“I’m looking forward to working with such a talented team and being able to support the exciting private companies based in the South West.”
