Clive Tietjen, business tax group leader at Deloitte, said: "Lee’s skills and experience of working with private corporate groups will add to the broad base of clients and range of services our Reading tax team can serve locally.

"With his extensive corporate tax and shareholder expertise, Lee has a proven track record working with clients on advising for the short, medium and long term, while focusing on adding value, minimising risk and making an impact."

Tietjen added: "This appointment grows our Business Tax partner number to 12 and our thriving practice now employs more than 850 people in the Thames Valley and south region.

"The Business Tax practice continues to focus on a range of clients including foreign-owned multinationals, UK listed groups, private equity backed groups and individuals, as well as partners focused on specialist areas such as M&A, compliance and reporting, and transfer pricing."

Waterson said he was "really looking forward" to getting to know the market across the Thames Valley.
"The innovation that can be seen across the region adds a huge amount of value to the UK economy. One of my passions is getting to know interesting businesses, their owners and management teams and there is plenty of opportunity for this over the coming months," he said.
