Derek Callanan, a partner within the corporate team at HCR in Cheltenham, led on the sale of Mitsubishi Motors UK’s aftersales and spare parts business to the renowned International Motors.
Ray Pope, managing director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK said: “Our transaction required the help of HCR team members from across a number of disciplines.
“We were impressed with the way the team was led, how the project was co-ordinated and the bringing of all of these factors together in an efficient manner. HCR added commercial advice to sound legal guidance, creating a good deal for our company, delivering it on time and on budget.”
Alongside this substantial deal, Rachael Reeves, also a corporate partner in Cheltenham, has helped Leviathan Engineering complete their acquisition of the majority shareholding of GMD Eurotool Ltd (GMD).
Leviathan, headquartered in Bristol, will expand the business - with GMD likely to be the first of several acquisitions on its journey to becoming an integrated engineering group.
Leviathan aims to focus on premium value and growth sectors where various engineering services can be shared to address larger, more technical projects.
Glenn Karlsson from Leviathan said: “The work of Rachael and her team was invaluable, and we look forward to working with them again.”
These deals come as the Cheltenham corporate team are recognised by Experian’s M&A review 2021 as leaders in their field, describing a “record-breaking year for deal activity in the South West.” This is an outstanding achievement, and these two latest deals showing the team aren’t resting on their laurels.
Tim Ward, head of the Cheltenham corporate team, said: “These are just two examples of the great work that we do on home turf, working with businesses across the region at all stages of their growth story. Whether they are looking for growth funding, looking to acquire a business or to sell, we’re with them at every stage. It’s an exciting time.”
