A senior residential property lawyer has joined Reading-based law firm Boyes Turner to lead its growing residential property practice.

Boyes Turner has appointed Alan Tibber, a residential property specialist with over 20 years’ experience, as the partner responsible for leading the further development of its residential property practice, a new role for the firm.

Alan is well known in the residential property field. Five years after qualifying, Alan set up his own residential property firm at the age of 30, before being acquired by a West End Practice in September 2021.

Alan’s expertise has been sought after by property law regulator, the Council of Licensed Conveyancers, where he was an external examiner. He also wrote part of the course for the new conveyancing apprenticeship scheme.

At Boyes Turner Alan will spearhead the growth of the residential property team.

“Boyes Turner has a fantastic reputation, and by moving here I can scale up my practice and ensure my clients benefit from the wider expertise of this firm – from dispute resolution to private client, family and corporate commercial law," said Alan.

"At Boyes Turner I look forward to supporting clients in the Thames Valley region and wider South East, from first time buyers to high net worth individuals and property investors.”

Alan is optimistic about the residential property market in the South East. “There has been some upheaval in the market, but the reality does not match the scare mongering headlines in some media.

"Mortgage interest rates are levelling off at around four per cent, and I predict that the market will be as buoyant as ever this Spring and Summer.”

Sue Brown, Boyes Turner’s head of private client, added: “Our residential property team has so much potential, and Alan is the perfect person to lead the team as it expands.

"Buying or selling a house can be one of the most stressful times in anyone’s life. Our residential property experts have the legal knowledge and strong focus on client service to guide clients through the process. We’re looking forward to offering this service to even more clients as we grow.”
