Blandy & Blandy advises on sale of historic hotel

Blandy & Blandy has advised Crest Hotels Group on their latest property, the acquisition of the Metropole Hotel & Spa in Llandrindod Wells, Wales.

The legal firm who are based in Reading and Henley on Thames, helped the Crest Group secure the 109 bedroom hotel. Crest, who are based in Bristol, add the property to their portfolio of seven hotels.

The last time Metropole found itself with new owners was 125 years ago, when Elizabeth Miles purchased it. Metropole then remained in her family for five generations. Most recently, the hotel had been run by siblings Justin Baird-Murray and Sarah Hill.

The Blandy team consisted of partner David Few, Emma Ford and Adam Chalker, Corporate & Commercial team, and partner John Dingle, in the firm’s Commercial Property team.

Crest’s director Parminder Singh, said: “We are extremely proud to bring this iconic hotel into our existing portfolio and look forward to working with the team in situ to further build on its reputation and stature.

“It has been a pleasure working with David, John and their teams who have advised and helped to navigate us successfully through the acquisition process.”
