B P Collins, the Thames Valley-based legal practice, has announced its appointment of Residential Property Partner Matthew Tebbot as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the company.

Matthew joins from London law firm, Wedlake Bell. He specialises in providing legal advice on a range of property law matters including the acquisition and disposal of both leasehold and freehold properties for ultra high-net worth and high-net-worth individuals, developers and property investment companies.

Bringing over 12 years of experience in the property sector, Matthew regularly advises on the purchase and sale of properties worth over £30million. He has also overseen the sales of new apartments at some of London’s most prestigious developments and has advised some of the UK’s largest property developers.

Commenting on his appointment, Matthew said: “It’s a great time to join the property practice after learning about the firm’s ambitions for 2024 from Alison, Maria and Martina.

''I am delighted to be joining a team of incredibly talented lawyers working within a hugely positive culture at B P Collins, which is dedicated to helping clients achieve their goals.”

With strengthening in mind, B P Collins has also announced the promotion of senior associate Elliott Brookes to head of the B P Collins’ property disputes team.

A former winner of the BB&O Law Society’s ‘Junior Lawyer of the Year’ Award, Elliott has expertise in a range of property litigation matters, including boundary disputes, rights of way and other easement disputes, claims for adverse possession, trust of land disputes, possession proceedings, forfeiture and debt recovery, matters under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 and advising clients on exercising break options.

Elliott is regularly instructed in high-value and complex property disputes for multinational and national companies, commercial landlords, portfolio residential landlords, management companies and high net worth individuals.

Matthew Brandis, Partner and Head of dispute resolution, said: “Elliott is highly regarded by clients and colleagues because of his technical and strategic ability, legal knowledge and commitment to providing an exceptional client service.

''I am confident that under his guidance the team will continue to go from strength to strength”.
