Oxford-based hand dryer manufacturer Airdri has appointed Jethro Lee as its new head of UK & European sales.

Jethro joins the company from appliance manufacturing giant Electrolux Professional and has previously worked for Dyson. He has been brought on board to grow Airdri’s business in the European export market as well as to increase sales of the company’s expanding product range here in the UK.

The announcement comes as Airdri launches its first ever combined air sanitiser and hand dryer in one – a first to market product in the UK that aims to revolutionise the approach to washroom hygiene.

PureDri utilises best in class sanitising technology to substantially reduce contamination risk, whilst creating cleaner, fresher smelling, and more sustainable washroom environments.

Working as part of the seven-strong commercial team, including recently appointed Head of Business Development Joe Pearce, Jethro will help the company towards achieving its ambitious sales strategy for the new product, alongside the core range of hand dryers and sanitisers.

Steve Whittall Chief Operating Officer at Airdri said: “In order to deliver on our growth strategy, we need a forward thinker to join our team, somebody who can help us expand into Europe while strengthening our position in the UK market. Jethro was an excellent fit for the role with his demonstrable history of working within businesses expressing high levels of innovation.

“Airdri is a business with ambitious growth plans and a commitment to continually invest in new people and technologies, a strategy that has kept us at the forefront of the hand dryer industry for over fifty years.

“Most recently, alongside bringing an eco-friendly range and a new child-friendly model to market, we have diversified into the air sanitisation industry. Our latest innovation combines our two areas of expertise, a powerful hand dryer and air sanitisation unit with additional features added for further protection for the user.

“I would like to welcome Jethro to the Airdri team. His appointment will provide invaluable experience and we hope, be an additional driving force to the commercial team that will contribute to the continued expansion of our product footprint across the UK and Europe”

Jethro said: “I’m joining Airdri at a hugely exciting time for the business. It is a brand that has a unique combination of strong heritage and a reputation for reliability. Not only has Airdri inspired an established client base that remains rightly loyal to the brand and become renowned for hard-wearing, technologically advanced hand dryers. Airdri is also making a name for itself with innovative, forward-thinking products to help break into new markets.”
