Dorset-based advanced systems design and manufacturer Aish Technologies has taken on two new business development managers, as it seeks to take advantage of new opportunities within both the defence sector and other industrial markets, while capitalising on recent contract awards from MBDA, BAE Combat Systems and other unnamed contractors.

Tony Holmes has joined Aish from IMI Precision Engineering (formerly Thompson Valves), where he was involved in business development within the defence sector. Holmes has worked within the industrial engineering industry for his whole career, having started as an apprentice within the iron and steel industry, and then moved from design engineering through project management and into business development.

He commented: “Aish offers a fresh new challenge for me, whilst enabling me to utilise my experience and knowledge I have built up within the Defence sector. The company has an excellent reputation as a systems provider, and I am delighted to have joined the team at such an exciting time for the company.”

Matt Osler is a qualified naval architect and has been heavily involved in the marine sector since leaving Solent University. Following positions at various shipyards in Scotland, Matt joined BAE Surface Ships in Portsmouth as a design engineer before moving to Marshall Aerospace where he worked in a business development role for the subsidiary Advanced Composites. Based in Leeds, Osler will work alongside Holmes to develop Aish’s global footprint and support the company’s development of complex process systems and rugged technology.

Aish is part of AGI Holdings, an investment affiliate of JF Lehman & Company, along with operating subsidiaries Aeronautical & General Instruments (also based in Poole), Hoffman Engineering in the US and Aircraft Appliance and Equipment based in Canada. Aish enhances AGI’s portfolio of mission critical situational awareness, filtration and other related products and services.
