Kent-based Hornby launches Bluetooth app for model railways
Margate’s Hornby Railways has launched the HM7000 control system, an iteration on the existing HM|DCC app for iOS and Android which allows users to control model railways via Bluetooth.
The app is designed to be accessible even for non-technical users, with an intuitive interface. It will also work with non-Hornby models, opening doors to a much larger userbase.
Chief among the new features is Hornby’s Patented Mesh technology, which enables multiple locomotives to operate seamlessly on the same layout without interfering with each other. Users will now be able to control their locomotives more easily across a network of devices.
The HM|DCC app also comes with a wide range of sound profiles, from a classic steam engine to a modern diesel locomotive, allowing for greater customisation.
Hornby hopes that HM7000 and its technology will revolutionise the model railway industry, with the new ability to install custom sound profiles offering a unique selling point to users.
