HS2 reaches 39 metre milestone
The River Tame West Viaduct, a HS2 bridge that will cross the river near Water Orton, carrying three tracks, has hit 39 metres of construction - an important milestone for the building process.
Work took place over 22 days, the process involved lifting concrete segments by crane and moving them into place via a skidding trolley.

The work forms part of HS2 construction between Long Itchington, in Warwickshire, to the centre of Birmingham and on to Staffordshire.
When finished the network will comprise 13 bridges in north Warwickshire which will take the railway over motorways, rivers, floodplains and local roads.
HS2's Sam Hinkley said: ''The progress we've made means so much to the team. Building this triangular network of 13 viaducts is a huge feat of engineering.''
