Precision measurement firm Third Dimension has formed a new Application Engineering team, expanding its technical and customer support capabilities.

The Bristol-based company has created the team by recruiting three specialist engineers who will be tasked with working directly with customers to understand their main challenges, giving Third Dimension an insight into changing demand and requirements in the automotive, aerospace, energy, and consumer goods manufacturing industries.

Joining from a top original equipment manufacturer in the Aerospace industry, Gerard Tamayo brings ten years’ experience in manufacturing and tooling, strengthening the company’s technical knowledge and product development in the sector.

He is joined by Daniel Sherwood, a University of Bristol Mechanical Engineering graduate who will work with Third Dimension’s software and hardware engineers to seek new applications for Third Dimension’s products.

Rounding out the trio is chemical engineering specialist Jake Tivey, who holds a master’s degree from Birmingham University along with experience of the energy, mining and manufacturing sectors.
