An incredible 19 metre light projection will be the centre piece of one of the Cotswolds biggest Christmas events.

The Cotswold Gateway Café and Information Centre, at the Cotswold Water park, South Cerney is hosting a celebration of Christmas, covering nearly all of the 2.7 acre site.

The event is the idea of the operators, Relish Group, who have teamed up with Robert Lawrence, an award winning Production Company in the entertainments industry, including staging at V Festival, Americas Cup and Goodwood festival of Speed.

Staged between Thursday 26 November and Thursday 24 December, the free entry event will contain an outdoor Christmas Market, children rides, Christmas tree sales, a socially distanced Santa’s Grotto and Elves workshop marshmallow fire pits as well as an incredible lights show and the centre piece of the 19 metre projection.

“It was something we wanted to do to cheer us all up after a difficult year,” explained Relish Group director Rob Goves. “We are incredibly grateful to Robert Lawrence for stepping in to help us with this. It has been incredibly hard for everyone in the events business and this Christmas spectacular shows exactly what we can do while being safe and within the tier two guidance.

“The Gateway café has also been transformed into a magical fairy space. Here we will be serving up delicious treats like wood fired pizza, our grilled free range turkey burger topped with bacon jam, stuffing and chestnut pickles. We have a full bar and are open until 9pm with covered, warm outdoor seating for all who choose to visit the event.”

The Gateway Christmas Extravaganza is open from Thursday November 26 until Thursday 24 November and is free parking and free entry.
