Stanbrook Abbey in Worcester, part of independent country house hotel group Hand Picked Hotels, has won Visit Worcestershires’s Hotel of the Year 2019

This 70 bedroom hotel situated in the Malvern Hills within the picturesque countryside of Worcester was awarded Hotel of the Year for outstanding performance, demonstrating excellence across every aspect of the business throughout 2019.

The annual Visit Worcester Awards for Excellence, held this year at The Chateau Impney in Droitwich, celebrate the very best of tourism within the city, recognising businesses that champion the most exceptional customer service and best practice within hospitality.

Gordon Burniston, General Manager of Stanbrook Abbey Hotel commented, “On behalf of the entire team at Stanbrook Abbey, I am delighted to receive this award. The team at Stanbrook Abbey are completely guest-focused and committed to maintaining meticulous quality standards.  I am thrilled that this award recognises the hard work of every member of the team and very proud to collect this prestigious accolade.”

“Stanbrook Abbey is a very special hotel both in terms of its unique façade and grand interior spaces but also in the friendly and informal environment we work hard to maintain. This year has seen the multi-million refurbishment so to have such positive feedback from our guests across all sectors of our business is hugely rewarding.”

Reached by the sweeping drive, this historic hotel dates back the 17th century, and is now a mix of modern and contemporary design following a sympathetic renovation earlier this year.

This hotel comprises of 70 bedrooms, all uniquely designed to the grandeur of the building’s exterior. The new onsite restaurant - The Refectory Dining Room & Terrace - serves modern British cuisine. Other facilities include George’s Bar, The East Room for private functions and a cellar with party and games rooms. The hotel also offers complimentary Wi-Fi and complimentary parking.
