Silverlake to host inaugural motor show with Eastleigh FC
Silverlake Automotive Recycling has partnered with its local football club, Eastleigh FC, to launch a new motor show for families on Father’s Day weekend.
MotoFest ’24 takes place on 15th June from 11am to 5pm at Silverlake Stadium, where Eastleigh play their matches.
Super cars and motorbikes will be on display, as well as classic cars, racing cars, EVs, motorhomes and private collections – plus model ranges from a host of regional dealers.
Allen Prebble, MD of Silverlake, said: “MotoFest ’24 is all about bringing people in the region together for a fun day out and supporting the community with the funds raised.
“Where better to hold the event than at Eastleigh FC – a club that sits at the heart of the community.
“We’ve been stadium sponsors for the last 17 years and get heavily involved in community outreach with the club.
“The regional support and interest has been staggering and we’re looking forward to a day that will really put Hampshire on the map for this type of event.”
Visitors to the event can pick up drinks at Sherwoods Lounge and Hangar Bar, while stalls will be serving food throughout the day.
As well as the cars on display, there’ll be an F1 simulator and an interactive play area for children featuring a Hampshire & IOW Air Ambulance helicopter simulator and Biffa refuse trucks to explore.
Firefighters from Hampshire & IOW Fire and Rescue Service will also be in attendance with a fire engine, demonstrating road rescue and extricating a casualty from a vehicle.
Funds raised by the event will support Eastleigh FC’s community activities – including the club’s charity, which makes football kits and training accessible to disadvantaged young people and supports pan-disability football in the region.
Tom Coffey, Vice Chairman of the club, added: “I’m delighted that we’ve teamed up with one of our principal sponsors to put this showcase event on.
“As a community club we’re extremely excited to be part of this!
“We’re always trying to find alternative ways to attract a different audience to the Silverlake Stadium and we feel there is no better way to do that than by hosting this event.”
Entry to this year’s inaugural event is £5 for adults and £1 for children five and over. Under 5s go free.
