Ford’s UK director of sales was in Portsmouth this week to open the brand new Hendy FordStore – a new style of dealership operated solely by Ford’s top dealers.

Kevin Griffin officially opened the FordStore following a major investment programme by Hendy at the Cosham site which also features a Transit Centre too.

Hendy is one of just a handful of dealer groups to operate a FordStore which offers the complete Ford range including Mustang and the Vignale lounge. Griffin said he was delighted to see how Hendy has transformed the site: “The opening is part of our plans to transform the customer experience by rolling out a network of upgraded new-look dealerships across Europe. FordStores represent the very best of Ford and offer customers the full range and services in an inviting destination.”

He said the Hendy FordStore will provide visitors with a new kind of buying experience. “Our aim is for customers to have an informative and engaging experience in a stress-free environment.”

Dealerships are divided into “Hello”, “Discover”, “Relax” and “Thank you” zones to navigate customers through being greeted, informed, considering offers and being shown and briefed on their new purchase.

Hendy chief executive Paul Hendy said he was delighted to welcome Griffin to the dealership and showcase how Hendy is involved in offering the very best in terms of facilities and services to private customers, fleet clients and those buying commercial vehicles.

“As one of Ford’s leading dealers in the UK we are committed to offering the very best in customer experience and this FordStore is part of an overall investment plan in our facilities throughout the group,” said Hendy.

“Portsmouth continues to be a key location for the group and these new facilities firmly establish the city’s importance within the group.”

Paul said FordStore is totally customer-focused and has been a huge success at the group’s dealership in Eastleigh with positive feedback from customers.
