New boutique hotel checks into the Cotswolds
A boutique hotel is to open in Cirencester this summer. Ingleside House, on Beeches Road, next to the award winning Barn Theatre, is currently being converted into a stylish 11 bedroom luxury hotel with a unique personality.
The hotel is being built on inspirational design and theatrical exuberance, whilst maintaining a sense of historic warmth from the old building which dates back to the late 18th century.
Due to open for the late May Bank Holiday, this new hotel will provide further jobs for the town as well as providing a further boost to tourism and visitor numbers with theatrical stays also planned. Téatro Bar & Restaurant, in the old servants quarters, will also be extending its opening hours.
Guests at Ingleside, as the hotel will be known, will have 11 bedrooms, one of which will be a suite, each with an individual design, director Rachel Wright said it will be a “stay like no other”. She added, “Our aim is to make your stay one of memory, offering you a unique base in the heart of the Cotswolds, be it to explore the area, take in a show and dinner or just a romantic getaway.”
Ingleside will also continue to offer multiple event spaces throughout the year, from private dining to large garden parties and teaming up with the Barn Theatre to offer packages to those visiting Cirencester.
Rachel hopes to be able to team up with other businesses in the town to extend these packages to other local tourist and hospitality destinations. Rachel said: “Over the last 10 years the site has changed: in terms of its offering, but also its relevant cultural personality, this meant that our services had to reflect and adapt.
“Ingleside, in its new guise aims to create a space and environment that will thrill our guests, providing them with something very special, be it one of our wonderful new rooms, a chance to watch amazing theatre, eat great food or simply enjoy a cocktail in our wonderful gardens.
“The hotel is the missing link that we have been waiting for and I cannot wait to share it with you.’’
Over the course of its 300-year existence, Ingleside House has had many purposes and repurposes – from being an initial private residence, to offices for the WWII effort and more recently a community centre and private school, granted Grade 2 listed status in August 1992.
Rachel added: “In the past three years the site has been developed and expanded to include the nationally acclaimed Barn Theatre, which is a separate business and registered charity, and an award winning restaurant – Téatro, which will open to the public again on April 16.
Ingleside House has continued as an events venue and hosted many marriages, anniversaries, birthdays alike over the years, with new and returning guests alike. The hotel will complement both perfectly.”
