Is this the Poshest Kebab in the Cotswolds?

The kebab van visit at the end of a night on the town is no longer an option due to lockdown restrictions. A possible alternative is being billed as, ‘the poshest kebab in the Cotswolds’.

An organic lamb donner kebab, served on homemade flatbread with a mint yoghurt and pickled chilli’s has entered the takeaway market as part of the offering from the Bathurst Arms pub in North Cerney.  Other kebab options include curried monkfish or the vegan filling of beetroot and chickpea falafel. All of the kebabs are priced at £10.

The Bathurst Arms in North Cerney, Gloucestershire was recently awarded five prestigious stars for Organic Served Here by the Soil Association Certification and have taken the decision to not close their doors completely during the lockdown and to offer take away on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights as well as Sunday lunches. As well as this they are also serving coffee and cake Wednesday to Sunday mornings for locals after a proper coffee as well as dog walkers and hikers making the most of the countryside.

“Kebabs are not the only thing on our new organic take away menu,” said Bathurst manager and director Jordan Pelly. “We have Kentucky fried pheasant, corn tortilla tacos and bean chilli, our Tom Long pulled BBQ beef brisket served in a Hobbs House brioche bun with sticky onions. We have tried to provide the Bathurst Arms dining experience for your home.

“Once again we find ourselves in lockdown and it is a difficult time for all. The hospitality trade is having a tough time but, building relationships within our local area and making sure the pink pub rebuilds its reputation and anchors itself into its community is at the forefront of every day.”
