Camping brand Olpro has planted 1,680 trees in just six months after launching an initiative to plant one tree for each Olpro tent or awning sold.

The Worcestershire-based company has contributed to reforestation projects across the world by planting a total of 937 trees in Madagascar, 740 trees in Mozambique and three trees in Nicaragua. After just six months, OLPRO looks set to achieve its ambition to plant thousands of trees within the first year of the initiative.

OLPRO launched the tree-planting initiative in celebration of the company’s 10 year anniversary as a business. The company has run the initiative in partnership with tree planting and carbon offsetting specialists, Ecologi.

Daniel Walton, Founder of OLPRO, said: “We’re proud to have planted such a significant number of trees in a relevantly short amount of time. We take great pride as a company in doing our bit to give back to the great outdoors that we all love so much.

“We also know that this is something our customers value and we’d like to think that’s one of the reasons why they’re so happy to buy their products from OLPRO. Our ultimate aim is to become a carbon-neutral company and we will continue to plant a tree for each OLPRO tent and awning sold.”
