Winchester-based telecommunications consultancy Kid-A has announced its aim to reach net-zero by 2050 and is looking to do so through a collaboration with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

SBTi, a company that works in partnership with World Resources Institute, WWF, and the United Nations Global Compact, helps organisations set science-based emissions reduction targets.

Kid-A  is aiming to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 42 per cent by 2030 and, as already mentioned, is also looking to hit its net-zero target by 2050.

The Winchester business was the first UK telecommunications consultancy to achieve Certified B Corporation status.

A spokesperson for Kid-A said: ''We are over the moon that Kid-A has been verified with SBTi, and have committed to reducing scope 1 and scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030 from our 2022 base year, and to measure and reduce our scope 3 emissions.

''We are also aiming to reduce scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 90% by 2050 from our 2022 base year. We aim to be the best at what we do, the best place to work and the best company to work with – and it shouldn’t cost our planet a ruddy thing!

''We are optimistic, diverse, creative, open-minded and disciplined - we strive to be the best of the best to deliver an incredible social experience whilst being neutral with our collective impact on the planet.
We love humans, we love our environment and if you’d not already guessed we love pop culture, movies, and music.''
