The Range kicks off rooftop solar initiative at Ashford warehouse
Plymouth-based retailer The Range is looking to turn its warehouses into distributed renewable power plants, starting with a rooftop solar installation at its site in Ashford, Kent.
The plan will not only slash the company’s own energy bills – with expected savings of at least 25 per cent – but also make them a potential supplier for nearby large energy buyers.
After all, it has more than 200 stores and 4.2 million sq ft of warehouse space nationwide to pull from.
The retailer has teamed up with InRange, a managed marketplace for enterprise renewable energy procurement, to accelerate its solar rollout and connect with buyers.
