Reading’s Select Car Leasing sponsors National Museum headline exhibition
Reading-based vehicle leasing broker Select Car Leasing is sponsoring the headline exhibition ‘Motopia? Past Future Visions’ at the National Motor Museum.
The exhibition will look at how the future of the motorcar was conceptualized in the past, realized ideas in the present day, and what current visions of the future of automobility look like.
‘Motopia? Past Future Visions’ will have four key themes: ‘vehicle visions’ will explore car design concepts; ‘propulsion’ will look at how our vehicles are powered – particularly timely when there is a resurgence of electric vehicles; ‘architectural dreams’ will include science fiction visions; and ‘urban solutions’ will show how vehicles have constantly been re-imagined to suit our needs and surroundings.

The event will also display landmark vehicles like the plug-in hybrid Volkswagen XL1, the forward-thinking yet ill-fated Sinclair C5, and a Columbia Electric vehicle which was first built in 1901.
National Motor Museum’s Head of Development Michelle Kirwan said: “The Museum has ambitious plans for development over the coming decade and we value the support companies such as Select Car Leasing whose assistance will secure funding for exhibitions and events that will focus on the future of automobility as well as Britain’s motoring heritage.”
‘Motopia? Past Future Visions’ will open on the 20th May 2023 and will run until the 14 April 2024 at the National Motor Museum, located at Beaulieu in the New Forest, Hampshire.
