Reading is best place in UK for jobhunting say Money.co.uk

Research conducted by Money.co.uk has found Reading is the best UK city for job opportunities across several sectors.

Southampton was placed sixth on the website's list.

The employment opportunity study by money.co.uk analysed the most populated towns and cities across the UK on their number of Indeed job listings. It revealed the UK cities offering the most job opportunities.

Reading with a population or 160,337, was found to have 3945 job listings on Indeed.co.uk which equates to 2460 listings per 100,000 people.

They had most opportunities in the UK in accountancy, engineering, IT, construction, teaching and customer service.

Reading is one of the largest towns in the UK yet to be granted city status, but its proximity to London makes it a popular place for commuters to live.

Reading was followed at the top of the list by Manchester, Bristol, Norwich and Nottingham.

Southampton was in sixth place on the list. With a population of 252,872 Money.co.uk stated they found 3994 Job Listings on Indeed within the city which was 1579 listings per 100,000 people.
