Bicester-based Dalcour Maclaren cut the ribbon on its new office in Oxfordshire this week, the firm’s second base locally which will create 50 new jobs in the county.

The professional services company – which focuses on helping its UK partners achieve net zero – plans to grow its full-time workforce to more than 800 staff across its 19 centres, including in London, Bristol, Thetford, Crewe, Stirling and Ballymena in Northern Ireland.

New roles at the firm’s latest Bicester base include surveyors, project managers, environmental planners and GIS specialists.

Joining the ribbon cutting were staff from Dalcour Maclaren’s existing Bicester office – which opened in 2003 – and James Neil, the company’s founder and CEO.

He said opening a second office in Oxfordshire underscores a UK-wide commitment from organisations to aspire to a net zero future.

“This is a particularly proud moment for everyone at Dalcour Maclaren as the location of our newest working space is only a stone’s throw from where our journey started,” said James.

“Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, so we’ve paid great attention to creating a working environment that aligns with our core values by achieving an A+ energy rating and installing solar panels and EV charging points for our staff.

“As part of a countrywide commitment to push to net zero and help reverse the effects of climate change, the UK is undergoing a seismic shift in utility and infrastructure investment.

“Our work is at the forefront of this shift, and expanding our team in Oxfordshire will play an important role in our ambitious growth plans.”

Founded in 2003, Dalcour Maclaren helps organisations meet key sustainability targets through land and property, geomatics and environmental planning.

The firm’s new base on the outskirts of Bicester forms part of a wider strategy to double its workforce in line with demand.

James added: “We’re people-focused, so want to ensure we have the best environment for our team to keep on delivering our work across the UK.

“Our new office will initially create 50 roles, with hundreds more planned in the next five years while fostering emerging skills in technology to keep us at the forefront of an increasingly evolving sector.

“We welcome talent from all backgrounds and pride our operation on working with established and new professionals who bring experience, new ideas and enthusiasm to our closely-knit workforce.”
