Life's a beach for Bristol care home residents thanks to window company

CR Windows, a 40-year-old Bristol based window company, has made a donation to Deerhurst care home, allowing them to make their on-site beach and garden a paradise once again.

CR Windows owners, Dean Lancaster, Production Director, and Mark Brown, Managing Director, donated £250 to the local care home so residents could relaxing at their very own beach. The donation enabled the home to buy a new paddling pool, volleyball set, surf boards, beach balls, umbrellas and embark on a big beach clean up.

Lesley Hobbs, Care Home Manager said: “We were thrilled when CR Windows’ donation came through, we knew the beach needed a little TLC so that’s what we spent the money on! It’s been lovely to see the residents enjoying the beach with their friends and family. It’s really put a smile on our faces. A huge thank you to CR Windows for their kind gesture!”

Throughout the pandemic, CR Windows have been going above and beyond to support their local community by running several campaigns to recognise the hard work of local people and organisations. Earlier this year, CR Windows surprised local nurses, teachers, carers and helpful neighbours with gifts thanking them for their contribution to the community.

Dean Lancaster, Production Director at CR Windows said: “As a local business, supporting our community has always been our priority. Over the last 18 months we’ve been reminded how important community is and that’s why we wanted to support a local cause. We are really pleased that we have been able to help Deerhurst care home with their big beach clean up. I know how much the beach means to the residents so knowing our donation has made a difference is just wonderful!”

Deerhurst care home, located in Speedwell, Bristol, is a cause close to the heart of CR Windows’ Products Director, Dean Lancaster; his uncle once lived at the home and Dean knows first-hand how important donations are to the home.

Based in Kingswood, the window and door specialists have supported local causes for more than 40-years, by donating money to causes including St Peter’s Hospice, James Hopkins Trust, children’s sports clubs, The Grand Appeal and supporting TV projects such as DIY SOS, altogether donating more than £30,000 to local causes.
