Laurence Vaughan appointed Executive Chairman Big Motoring World

Big Motoring World Group have appointed a new Executive Chairman.

Laurence Vaughan will now take the wheel at the used car dealership, which sells in excess of 20,000 motors per annum. Described as a veteran of the motor industry due to over forty years experience, Laurence is widely respected.

It is the latest development at the car dealership as they prepare to launch across new geographies. The company opened its fifth car showroom in 2021. Located in Fengate, Peterborough the premises were given a £4million facelift before opening to the public.

The Motoring World Group growth strategy received a major boost following investment from Freshstream last year.

Peter Waddell, CEO of Big Motoring World, said: “We are delighted to welcome Laurence to the Big Motoring World team.

“His appointment will support our continued ambitious growth strategy, providing strategic contribution, determination and professionalism. Laurence’s extensive experience in the automotive sector will be invaluable as we continue to benefit from the sector trends in the coming years."

In a statement welcoming Mr Vaughan's appointment, Freshstream said: "Laurence brings a wealth of expertise in the automotive retailing sector, spanning four decades and encompassing new and used vehicle retail, remarketing and auctions.

"Laurence’s appointment comes after Freshstream’s investment in Big Motoring World, which has enabled the business to accelerate its ambitious growth strategy, so we’re thrilled to see this appointment based on Laurence’s strong track record of success."
