Kent marketing agency The Inside Story to grow trees with Cloudforests
The Inside Story, a technology-focused marketing agency based in Tunbridge Wells, has partnered with Cloudforests to offset its carbon emissions through the planting of new forests.
The firm becomes Cloudforests’ 54th CoolPartner, a group of companies setting out to grow trees along the Wild Atlantic Way on Ireland’s western coast.
Barney Jameson, Founder and Managing Director at The Inside Story, said: “As a company, we have been talking for a while about the impact that our actions are having on the environment and we wanted to take positive action to reduce this.
“After a period of extensive research, we decided that Cloudforests presented the best solution to help us reduce our carbon footprint.”
The partnership will see the team at The Inside Story heading out to Ireland to plant native trees such as oak, rowan, birch, and alder in the firm’s new mini-forest. They will be using the Miyawaki Method, named after Japanese botanist Dr Akira Miyawaki, which captures up to ten times more carbon than conventional techniques.
The verifiable nature of this solution was a key factor for Director of Content James Ling: “We didn’t want this to be a ‘greenwashing’ exercise. Genuine sustainability has to be at the heart of every corporate strategy, and we feel that this is a step in the right direction for The Inside Story.”
