Guildford health company to walk 'around the world' to raise money for Diabetes UK
Employees at GlucoRx, a Guildford based health solutions company, plan to cover the accumulative distance of a trip around the globe to raise funds for Diabetes UK.
The company, who supply cost-effective health care solutions to people living with diabetes, have announced that 30 of their employees will run, walk, or swim 40,075km in 2023.
Participants, including the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer, and the Chief Finance Officer, have signed up to complete 4km a day for a year.
Chief Operating Officer of GlucoRx Chris Chapman said: “We would like to raise as much money for Diabetes UK as we can as it will transform the lives of thousands of people.
“It would be great to hit the ground running in the first few months to take control of the challenge, putting us in a good position to succeed.
“Consistency is going to be key for this fundraising challenge as it is a lengthy one so to complete it in less than 365 days would be fantastic.
“Diabetes UK improves the lives of people living with diabetes, so we are on a mission to raise money for a life-changing charity that relies on funds from others.”
Founded in 2010, GlucoRx Limited is the largest supplier of diabetic products to the NHS. In the past 10 years, GlucoRx has saved the NHS around £350 million by reaching out to Clincal Commissioning Groups across the UK.
