Government gives green light for Kelda's Air-Powered shower
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has now approved Kelda Showers' Air-Powered shower.
This is the first and only shower technology to be recognised by the Government’s Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) through SAP Appendix Q.
A spokesman for the company said: "This marks a defining moment in the history of water and energy-efficient showers.
"Housebuilders will for the first time be able to reduce the dwelling emission rate and primary energy rate in new homes by specifying a Kelda shower – meaning better energy efficiency and lower bills, and since SAP scores are based on a building’s energy costs this can provide a welcome improvement in the SAP score.
"This is the result of over three years of blood, sweat, and tears and has included collecting and analysing large samples of evidence to inform the energy-saving potential of our product."
