Cheltenham-based block management firm, Fraser Allen Estate Management, is sponsoring an International Women's Day afternoon tea & networking event near Swindon on Wednesday, March 8.

The three-hour event, which aims to recognise and celebrate women female leaders in the local community, will be held at Basset Down Complex, off j16 of the M4, from 11am - 2pm.

The women-only networking session provides a valuable opportunity to make new connections while enjoying a buffet-style afternoon tea with fizz. Attendees will be able to table swap to maximise the opportunity to meet as many people as possible.

Jodie Fraser, managing director of Fraser Allen Estate Management, said: “It’s important to continue to mark this day, because despite the changes being made around the gender pay gap and women’s rights in general, there is still a long way to go.

"Flexible working is going to be key to ensure more women can maintain their positions in the workplace, and until we are all on a level playing field, we must continue to support awareness days such as this.

“International Women’s Day is also important to me as my company is the only female-led managing agent in the area and that comes with its own challenges. However, it’s also a huge achievement to work in a very male-dominated industry and still be a success within residential property management.”

This year’s theme is #EmbraceEquity, meaning creating a fair and equal world. At the event will be Nick Gazzard who set up the Hollie Gazzard Trust, a Gloucestershire-based charity started by Nick after his daughter Hollie was murdered by her ex-partner in 2014, following months of obsessive behaviour, stalking and harassment.

Jodie Fraser is also a corporate ambassador for the charity and will be talking to Nick Gazzard about the importance of the charity, and how women can keep themselves safe through his safety app known as Hollie Guard.

“Nick lost his daughter Hollie in the most traumatic way you could imagine. I am inspired by his drive and ambition to keep young women safe, and when I heard about Hollie Guard, I knew it was something that would be a huge benefit to lone workers within my industry.

“For us to tell the attendees about the Trust and the app is so important to keep raising awareness around personal safety.”
