Dover Regatta awarded Platinum status for sustainability efforts
The Port of Dover has received a prestigious sustainability award for the 2022 Regatta.
The Port authority was awarded Platinum status by Sailors For Seas, Clean Regatta initiative for the event which is held in association with Destination Dover.
Sailors For Seas is the world’s leading ocean conservation organization. The awards encourage water based events and organisations to place sustainability central to their activities.
Dover is the UK's busiest international ferry port, £144bn worth of UK trade and 33% of all trade with the EU is handled there.
Key to the award of Platinum status was organisers's waste management efforts. Support for vendors was available from the Port’s environment team, who already ensure all waste collected in bins is recycled or used to generate energy.

"Alongside our carbon net zero targets, the Port of Dover aims to ensure our events have zero negative impacts, so we are delighted that our 2022 Regatta has been awarded Platinum Clean Regatta status.
