Businesses in Milton Keynes are being invited to a half-day net zero event where they will find advice on cutting carbon emissions, saving money and minimising waste.

On 20 October, Milton Keynes’ Ridgeway Centre will host Buckinghamshire Business First’s, Net Zero MK conference. The gathering will offer SMEs in Milton Keynes support and networking opportunities with business leaders who are making positive steps towards a Net Zero MK.

Among the speakers will be Jo Fairley, co-founder of the Green & Black’s luxury chocolate brand, a leader in green and sustainable business models. Joining her will be a panel of Milton Keynes business leaders, low carbon experts and representatives from business support organisations.

The conference feeds into the wider Net Zero MK project. It offers a range of support for local businesses, including grant funding and training to help them capitalise on low carbon opportunities. Milton Keynes City Council is funding the project, which is being delivered by Ngage Solutions in partnership with Buckinghamshire Business First.

Daniel Cope, Climate Change Programme Manager at Ngage Solutions, said: “This event will bring together experts and local business leaders who are committed to making changes towards Net Zero.”

“Threats and opportunities often come hand in hand and the long-term threats from climate change can be countered today by the actions we all take to save energy, improve air quality and cut our carbon emissions, which can also benefit your business!

“So, join this exciting event to meet experts who can help your business cut energy bills and emissions.”
