BPE Solicitors is to continue its partnership with blood bike charity Severn Freewheelers throughout 2021 following an incredibly busy year for the charity.

The volunteers at Severn Freewheelers have had an exceptionally busy year, supporting the NHS and key workers throughout the coronavirus pandemic. Not only did they introduce a 24/7 service but also launched the Pharmy Army to deliver medicines to patients' homes.  Since April, the new service has responded to more than 5,000 calls and covered nearly 150,000 miles, whilst the Pharmy Army has delivered 2657 packs of medicine.

Severn Freewheelers is part of the National Blood Bike Network. They deliver essential medical items including blood, human tissue, patient scans, human milk and medication. During the pandemic, their focus has been on couriering COVID-19 tests to testing centres and transporting life-saving equipment between NHS facilities in Hereford, Worcester, Gloucestershire and North Wiltshire.

Senior Partner John Workman said: “Extending our partnership with Severn Freewheelers was a no-brainer. We are so impressed by the volunteers’ commitment to supporting the county and the NHS, and we are so grateful for the work they have been doing. We’re delighted to be fundraising for Severn Freewheelers again in 2021.”

Tim Kidwell, Events Manager at Severn Freewheelers, said: “2020 has been a demanding year for Severn Freewheelers so the continued support from BPE Solicitors is incredibly important for us.”
